Best Diet Horchata that is good for you!

Yes, guilty, I grew up in Southern California.

Horchata has always been a splurge at my favorite Mexican food joints. It is normally a mixture of rice milk, a ton of sugar, vanilla and cinnamon. All this poured over ice in a 24oz cup.  LARGE, SWEET and TASTY!

Recently, a great street taco place I like started offering a FROZEN version of Horchata. Yes, I’m in love! Only one problem. Because my sweet tooth isn’t what it used to be, the cloying sweetness of the real thing meant I drank about 1/4 of it and tossed it in the trash. Tasty, but just too much.

Imagine my surprise, when just a week later VANILLA SHAKEOLOGY was revealed at the annual BeachBody Coach Summit. Serious happy dance here! Hmmmm… vanilla… can I count the ways I love thee?

Today’s recipe : Frozen Horchata

  • 1 Packet – Vanilla Shakeology
  • 4oz rice or almond milk (unsweetened)
  • 4oz water
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon or more to taste
  • 4-6 ice cubes
  • Blenderize!
